PositiveLeadership

It all starts with positive leaders

Positive leaders create positive institutions and thriving communities. Positive leaders skillfully undertake purposeful action that evokes positive reactions from others with the goal to make progress toward a common goal.

We define leadership as the activity of engaging oneself and others in order to align the factors necessary to thrive.

Like any activity, leadership can be done at various levels of performance and one’s performance can be enhanced with knowledge and practice.

Viewing leadership as an activity frees it from the confines of organizational and corporate contexts and makes it accessible to everyone. Leadership is necessary in all areas of life. Leadership is taking positive actions that evoke positive reactions in others. It’s about getting oneself in the right mindset in order to put the right things into motion that bring about the best possible results.

What does it really mean to thrive?

The word “thrive” is becoming commonplace in society today. But what does it really mean? The word originally comes from Old Norse and roughly translates as “to seize” or “to grasp hold of.”

To thrive often requires seizing the resources and opportunities at hand to bring about the desired results. Its original meaning implies that if we want a better state of affairs, we must “grasp for ourselves” the course of events rather than leave them to chance.

In today’s usage, thriving means: to grow or develop vigorously, to succeed, or to flourish. Some additional signs of thriving include health, excellence, winning and happiness. Thriving is the ultimate outcome that everyone wants - whether it be in the family, at the workplace, in our community or world.

At Positive Leadership, we’ve created tools and methodologies to help people identify the factors necessary for thriving in their lives. Our message is simple but powerful: Engage, Align and Thrive.
